IMPORTANT DOG TAG INFORMATION
Written by Caroline Haldeman

When you get a tag made for your dog's collar, here are some helpful tips;

1. Do NOT put your dog's name on it! Put YOUR first name on it.
If your dog gets lost or stolen, you do not want your dog responding warmly to a stranger because they hear their name being called. A person will be less likely to want to keep your dog if they do not know your dog's name.

2. Put YOUR CELL number on the tag. Do not put your home phone number.
If your dog gets lost, chances are that you will be out searching for them! So if someone finds your dog, you want to know right away... Not 4 hours later when you get home from searching for them!

3. Put "REWARD" on your collar.
Someone will be much more likely to call you with some motivation!

4. Put "NEEDS SPECIAL MEDICATION DAILY" on your collar.
Someone will be less likely to want to keep your dog if they think your dog has a problem and needs medication!

5. Do not put your home address on the tag!
Your tag doesn't need an address on it. You do not want a stranger knowing where your dog lives! If someone finds your dog and they want to keep them, they will be more likely to keep them when they know your address... Because now they can avoid you and your house!
