Nail Trimming Class

This class will show you how to properly and safely trim your dog's nails yourself!

Next Class Date:  (TBA). (Once we meet our minimum with sign ups and pre-payments, we will set a date for another class.) Class times will be assigned based on the order that payments were received. This class will be held on a Saturday afternoon.
Location: Locations vary in O.C.
Instructor: Caroline Haldeman
Prerequisite: You must sign up for this course by sending an email to us. Full payment must be made in advance to reserve a spot. You may pay for this class via our website under Make A Payment.
Cost: $60.00 (Sirius K9 Clients) / $80.00 (Non-Sirius K9 Clients)

Class size is limited to 6 dogs.

Intermediate Obedience Testing

Next test date: (May 2024) Cost: $35. Location: Held in Yorba Linda. Prerequisite: You must sign up prior and make your payment in advance to reserve a spot. Sign up for this class with an email to Caroline Haldeman and you may pay on-line through our website under "Make a Payment". Evaluator: Caroline Haldeman (Visit our Intermediate Obedience Test page under "Our Tests" to see the Intermediate Obedience Test.) Testing takes place on a Sunday or Saturday afternoon. ** You may also test out privately anytime, just let us know.

Therapy Dog International (TDI) Practice Test

Location: Yorba Linda. Next date: Will be scheduled once our next TDI Test is scheduled. (Please see below.) Cost: $35. Instructor: Caroline Haldeman. This class is designed to prepare our K9 teams for the TDI test. Therapy dogs visit hospitals, senior living facilities, and other facilities where handicapped, ill, or disadvantaged people reside for the purpose of providing dog assisted therapy. The class will focus on the correct handling of the dog in therapy situations and the obedience skills required to pass the Therapy Dog International (TDI) test. Prerequisite:
** This class is for Sirius K9 Academy clients only! (Those that have attended our classes with their dog, or have done private lessons with us with their dog, or have had their dog trained by us via In Kennel Training.) **
Handlers must be at least 12 years old. You must sign up for this class on our website under Sign Up For A Class and the class must be paid for in advance to reserve a spot. You may pay for this class under Make A Payment. All dogs attending must be able to pass at least our Basic Obedience Test. Dogs must be at least 1 year old to take this class.

AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Testing

Next CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Test Date: May 2024  Evaluator: TBA Location: Held in Yorba Linda. Prerequisite: Dogs must be at least 1 year old at time of testing and must have passed at least our Sirius K9 Basic Obedience Test. (Visit our "Certifications" link to see the test and for more details.) Cost: $35. Prequisite You must RSVP and prepay in order to attend this test! (10 dogs maximum) Please email us at info@siriusk9training.com for to be added to the next test date roster.
** This testing is for Sirius K9 Academy clients only! (Those that have attended our classes with their dog, or have done private lessons with us with their dog, or have had their dog trained by us via In Kennel Training.)**
If you are not a Sirius K9 client, please contact the AKC directly to find and schedule testing for your dog elsewhere.

(If your dog hasn't been (If your dog is not CGC certified, it is mandatory to test for this as well.) Prequisite You must RSVP in order to attend this test! Our Annual Rattlesnake Avoidance (R.A.T.) Training

Several of our client’s dogs were bitten by snakes! This will help teach your dog to stay AWAY from snakes!

Next Date: Spring 2024

(This special class is usually offered once per year at a discounted rate to our clients.)
Time: Time slots begin at 8:00 a.m. (You will be notified of your class time after you sign up.) Time slots will be allocated every 15 minutes based on sign up and payment date. (Please specify if your dog has or hasn't had this training before when signing up.)
Location: Yorba Linda, outdoors (The exact location / address will be given as it gets closer to the scheduled date to those who have signed up via email.)
Cost: $75 per dog (Sirius K9 clients) $90 per dog (non Sirius K9 clients) (this must be paid in advance in order to be added to the roster.)

Beginner Decoy Seminar (4 hour course)

This class will introduce you to decoy work. You will learn how to work dogs on tugs, soft & intermediate sleeves, and will be introduced to full suit work. You will learn how to read dogs and work them in prey / defense drives and how to build a dog’s confidence. This class is for physically fit individuals and those with no injuries preventing them from moving quickly, running, bending over, etc.

Pet First Aid/CPR Class (5 1/2 hour course)

You never know when you will need it! If you own a dog or cat, you owe it to them to take this class! Sign up early! Class size will be limited.

This is the most thorough and informative Pet First Aid / CPR class you will ever take! Do not bring your dog to this class.

Sirius K9 Protection Dog Certification

Want to be challenged? Want something to show for all your hard work? To pass our Protection Dog Certification, the dog/handler team must successfully complete eight exercises off leash. Six dogs maximum, sign up early!
