Ron Gaunt - Narcotic Detection Class
Ron
has bred, raised, trained in excess of 100 working dogs that have obtained
degrees in both sport and police trials. He has trained various breeds but have
concentrated with German Shepherds, Labradors and Belgium Malinois for service
detection work.
He has trained, worked and managed service dogs for more than 30 years
consecutively.
He is presently a working manager/handler of EDD teams deployed in the private
sector, contracted with “Fortune 500” companies.
He began working with dogs in training for police work in 1970, the majority of
Cities were apprehensive toward K9 use, and only after the successful
reintroduction in 1976 by the Inglewood Police (Ca) did we gain creditability
for properly trained and managed teams.
While working for Inglewood Police Department, he attended and instructed many
training courses, worked 3 separate k9s over a period of 12 years, was the
training director for the Los Angeles Schutzhund Club, 30 year service
retirement from Inglewood Police Department.
