Our Dog Trainer School

~ SIRIUS K9 ACADEMY PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINER PROGRAM - (250 hour course)
This course will prepare you for a career training dogs professionally. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a Professional Dog Trainer Certificate.
Class location: At various locations in Orange County, but mostly in Yorba Linda.
Next class start date: Next Start Date TBA
This course will meet two - four times per week during the week and on weekends (times / days will vary - a schedule will be provided to the students prior to the course starting.) This will be a part-time intensive hands-on course.
Cost: $3000.00 (4 student maximum!)
Prerequisite: A $500.00 deposit is required to reserve a spot in this class. The balance will be due on the first day of class and the deposit will be applied to the class fee. You must be 18 years or older and in good physical condition. The applicant must possess a High School diploma (or G.E.D.) and be fluent in English.
Instructors: Caroline Haldeman and Dave Snope (other instructors / guest speakers will also be scheduled.)

This course will incorporate rescue dogs in need of homes into the program. Students will be working with these dogs throughout the program (in our classes and one on one.) You may not use your own dog, as it is much more challenging to train a dog that is not your own. You will need to be prepared to transport the rescue dogs you will be working with to and from class and to lessons either in a crate or by seat-belting them in your vehicle. We highly encourage the students to temporarily foster a rescue dog at their home so that it will be much easier to work with them on a daily basis.

This course will cover many aspects of dog training including; Obedience (puppy, basic, intermediate, advanced, and competition), tracking, protection training, therapy dog training, scent discrimination, agility, the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test, remote collar training, behavior modification and much more!
